Location: New York

Picture Shop, a Streamland Media company, is seeking a Dailies Assist to support production-based dailies workflows for film and television productions. This role is ideal for a highly organized and technically proficient individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is interested in developing expertise in digital media and post-production workflows.

The successful candidate will be technically minded, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working under tight deadlines. The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and consistency is essential to supporting efficient dailies operations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support dailies workflows for film and television productions in accordance with established technical and operational procedures.
  • Assist with the organization, management, transfer, and copying of production media and associated files.
  • Maintain accurate file hierarchies, directory structures, and data copies to ensure media is properly organized and securely managed.
  • Support the preparation, organization, and management of hard drives and other media-storage devices.
  • Assist with audio syncing and metadata entry as required by established workflows.
  • Work with Mac and Windows operating systems and navigate standard user interfaces and computer workflows.
  • Troubleshoot basic computer, hardware, software, storage, and connectivity issues as needed.
  • Support workflows involving professional editing and post-production applications.
  • Assist with the setup, connection, organization, and maintenance of production-related equipment and computer hardware.
  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously while meeting production deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and production and post-production stakeholders to support efficient workflow execution.
  • Follow established workflows, procedures, and quality-control practices while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
  • Adapt to changing project requirements, technologies, equipment, and workflows in a fast-paced production environment.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist with workflows involving professional digital film cameras and associated media.
  • Support equipment wiring, connectivity, and basic computer hardware integration.
  • Assist with post-production applications such as Color front, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or comparable professional software.
  • Support other production and post-production tasks as assigned based on project and operational requirements.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and professional work environment.
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong computer aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of file management, including file hierarchies, file transfers, data copying, and general media organization.
  • Familiarity with user-interface navigation and general computer workflows.
  • Working knowledge of hard-drive technologies and common interfaces, including Thunderbolt and USB.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy under time constraints.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced film and television production environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of audio syncing and metadata entry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production and post-production teams.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, software, equipment, and workflows.
  • Current driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, variable hours, and weekends as necessary, including with little or short notice, based on production and project needs.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with professional editing or post- production software, including Color front, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or comparable applications.
  • Knowledge of professional digital film cameras and related media formats.
  • Familiarity with basic color-management or image-processing workflows.
  • Experience with equipment wiring, connectivity, and computer hardware integration.
  • Film school or other formal film/television production experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
