Position: Concierge-HELENA 57 West
Location: New York

Overview

The Concierge candidate will create a positive experience by providing outstanding customer service to building residents, guests, and prospects. Responsibilities include greeting residents and guests, maintaining a clean and organized lobby, handling deliveries and packages, accepting service requests, managing emergencies, monitoring visitor parking, and addressing resident complaints.

Shift Schedule
  • Thursday – Saturday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Monday: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: OFF
Salary Range

$22.39 – $29.77 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain excellent customer service relationships by adhering to Durst Residential Customer Service standards.
  • Adhere to all Durst Residential Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Screen all guests to ensure authorized entry into resident apartments.
  • Keep lobby, entryways, and front desk clean and organized.
  • Answer calls, provide information, forward calls, and take messages when necessary.
  • Inspect building entrance, lobby, and community amenity areas for trash, cleanliness, and lighting; take appropriate action and notify a manager if needed.
  • Perform daily package audits, distribute packages, and assist residents with deliveries.
  • Issue keys to residents or associates per approved SOPs.
  • Receive and distribute dry cleaning and other deliveries to residents as required.
  • Monitor access controls and CCTV for suspicious activity; handle accordingly.
  • Handle tenant inquiries, issues, and incidents; document and communicate them, including but not limited to: noise complaints, smoking, and arriving guests/vendors/deliveries.
  • Ensure all vendors and contractors report to the lobby desk, announce arrival, and receive appropriate logging and escorting.
  • Track, document, and report elevator incidents/entrapments; monitor elevators regularly and communicate out‑of‑service status immediately.
  • Manage emergency response during fire/non‑fire emergencies and/or active shooter events; call 911, assist first responders, monitor FCC and all fire protection systems, and activate the Emergency Response Team.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred; must read and write English effectively.
  • 1–2 years of customer service, residential concierge, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to work any of the seven days of the week, 52 weeks of the year; must work scheduled hours consistently and be available for overtime when requested.
90‑Day Requirements
  • 32BJ CPR/AED/Basic First Aid course (8‑hour course); provide certificate.
  • F‑53 Certificate of Fitness (Emergency One‑Way Voice Announcement Personnel).
Recommended Certifications
  • FDNY certifications: F‑85 Fire Safety Director (with Active Shooter and Medical Emergency Preparedness) or F‑89 Fire Life and Safety Director; Z‑50 Fire Safety Director FDNY Written Exam; Z‑89 Non‑fire Emergency FDNY Written Exam; S‑12 Citywide Sprinkler Systems; S‑13 Citywide Standpipe Systems; S‑14 Citywide Standpipe Multi‑zone Systems.
  • Knowledge and operational experience of Fire Command Centers and Fire Protection Systems.
  • CPR/AED and Basic First Aid certificates (renew every 2 years).
  • 32BJ Fire Life and Safety Director for Commercial Buildings Course.
Physical Demands

Employees must stand, walk, use hands, reach, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, talk, and hear. Lifting up to 30 lbs. Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
