Impact

The Ponce Banker provides exceptional customer service, enhancing the Bank’s reputation and financial success. This role contributes to the overall profitability of the branch and the Bank by fostering customer engagement and delivering tailored financial solutions.

Responsibilities

The Ponce Banker is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by identifying client needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services. They process all transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, they support branch business development initiatives and growth objectives by promoting and cross selling banking products, collaborating with other departments to generate referrals, and ensuring timely completion of assigned training programs.

Essential Functions
  • Greet customers proactively and provide a seamless service experience.
  • Identify financial needs and recommend appropriate bank products and solutions, including deposits, loans, and cash management services.
  • Address customer inquiries via multiple communication channels and act as a liaison between departments.
  • Employees may be required to work at different branch locations based on business needs, including temporary or permanent transfers.
  • Establish new accounts, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct monetary transactions using traditional and automated teller systems.
  • Process wire transfers while promoting self-service options.
  • Support community development by attending events.
  • Conduct customer follow-ups and periodic calls to enhance relationships.
  • Collaborate with other departments to generate and provide referrals
  • Complete assigned training programs by the designated deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to all banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
Ancillary Functions
  • Assures adherence to Bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Provides cross-functional support to other areas of the department and the Bank where service or assistance is needed.
  • Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re‑designed depending on individual circumstances.
Mandatory Training Curricula

Training is required of all Bank staff as related to regulatory mandated compliance topics and courses required for specific job functions. Career enhancement training courses are also available. Please refer to course catalog and management for details.

Competencies

Skills

  • Clearly communicates in English, Spanish is helpful
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematical skills
  • General knowledge of retail banking procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of banking regulations
  • Moderate PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Self‑motivated with a demonstrated aptitude and desires for sales
  • Comfortable with technology:
    Smartphone, Online Banking, Remote Desktop Capture, ATM etc.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel to multiple branch locations if needed
  • Typical office environment. Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
  • May require working in a standing position for a continuous period of time
  • Available to work Monday to Sunday; based on Business needs
Requirements

Education/Training: A high school diploma, or equivalent, with an emphasis in a business curriculum.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years’ related experience normally required

Salary: $45,500 – $50,000
