Overview

Front Desk Weekend Lead (Part-Time) at New York Sports Club. The role provides a welcoming and safe environment for members and guests during opening/closing weekend hours with a high level of customer service. This position is 2 days per week / 16 hours, with shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The role also acts as a role model for the Service and Sales Representatives and supports retention by focusing on cancel saves and Accounts Receivable (AR) collections in collaboration with the General Manager/Assistant General Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Promote, maintain, and protect the customer experience by developing Service & Sales Representatives to be solution-oriented and aligned with the mission, values, and guiding principles.
  • Engage with and build genuine connections with members and guests to foster interest in offerings, drive membership sales through referrals, and encourage retention.
  • Ensure quick response to member feedback, complaints, and escalate issues to club management as necessary.
  • Navigate basic questions about membership, services, and billing inquiries.
  • Assist in supervising and guiding SSRs to meet operational standards and development goals.
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of face-to-face customer service experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a fitness, hospitality, or retail environment.
  • Child & Adult AED/CPR certified.
  • Ability to learn and maximize POS/timekeeping/membership systems.
  • Experience leading outreach and referral activities to generate leads, contacts, and appointments.
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment and handle challenging member issues with professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; highly organized with attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and multi-task with urgency.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and move equipment as needed.
Scheduling

This part-time position adheres to a weekly opening/closing schedule on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with shifts starting 15 minutes before opening and ending after closing to ensure facility walkthroughs.
