Location: New York

Veterinary Technicians and Practice Managers working as a Field Support Representative (FSR) for Diagnostics will collaborate with an internal team to develop strategies and maintain customer accounts through education and other customer‑centric solutions. The role is dynamic, customer‑facing, and involves field visits to build relationships, solve problems, and support customer success.

In this role:
  • Travel up to 75% of the time (5+ days of car travel per week and 6‑8+ overnights per month); weekend hours and weekday overtime may also be required.
  • Install and train clinic staff on the best use of IDEXX Analyzers (e.g., Pro Cyte, Catalyst One, Sedi Vue, InVue).
  • Support critical customer visits, providing onsite technical troubleshooting when things don’t go according to plan.
  • Work remotely from a home‑based office.
  • Utilize a wide array of programs to plan and strategize customer visits, serving as a true IDEXX Ambassador and trusted partner.
  • Manage your schedule based on unique customer needs while focusing on professional development and growth.
What you need to succeed:
  • 3+ years of experience working in a veterinary practice or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with IDEXX products.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Residency in the Rochester, NY area and willingness to travel within this territory and occasionally outside of it (self‑relocation required for out‑of‑territory visits).
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, gaining confidence and trust from others.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills with customers, management, and peers.
  • Planning and prioritization skills for timely, quality decisions.
  • Effective listening skills to uncover customer needs and adapt approach.
  • Comfort with technology such as computers, tablets, and smartphones (computer networking experience is a plus).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks: extending, reaching, handling, squeezing, twisting, manipulating tools; occasionally climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; lifting, moving, and carrying up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Hearing acuity sufficient for effective communication via telephone and in person.
  • English proficiency for customer and team communication.
  • Travel and work within the assigned area, driving for extended periods, and interaction with animals.
