Collections Representative

Suburban Propane seeks a Collections Representative to support our nationwide utilities and energy customers. In this role, you will manage inbound and outbound calls to resolve delinquent accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and research billing discrepancies while maintaining a strong customer focus. You'll document all account activity, follow strict regulatory and company compliance standards, and partner with customer service and billing to resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound calls to customers with past-due accounts
• Negotiate payment arrangements and set up payment plans within company guidelines
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer account issues
• Document all collection activities in the customer account system accurately
• Escalate complex or non-responsive accounts per company policy
• Collaborate with customer service and billing teams to resolve disputes
• Adhere to federal, state, and company collections and privacy regulations
• Meet or exceed daily and monthly collection and call-quality targets
• Provide courteous, professional service that supports long-term relationships
