Job Description & How to Apply Below

Connect NYC is fixed wireless internet, operated by Wave2

Wave LLC, running into Upper West Side buildings the national carriers skipped: prewar walk-ups, brownstones, townhouses, small apartment and mixed-use buildings. Every one of them has one person who can open it — the owner, the managing agent, or the board. Reaching that person is the job. You will spend the day on the phone with people who screen calls for a living, and most of those calls will end in nothing.

The ones that do not end in nothing move a whole building  you need a same-day yes to stay interested, this is the wrong work.

What you do
  • Call Upper West Side building owners, managing agents, boards, and storefront businesses.
  • Explain the service in plain language: residential at $89, $119, and $149 a month for 150/50, 300/100, and 600/200 Mbps; business at $349 and $549. Taxes included. No contract. No data cap. The price stays fixed while service is active on that plan.
  • Get past the front desk to the person who can decide, and keep going until there is an answer either way.
  • Ask the questions that settle whether a building is worth a check — what service it has now, how many units, who signs — and hand off the ones that qualify.
  • Keep a current picture of where every building stands, so a conversation you started six weeks ago picks up where it left off.
  • Build a working picture of who owns and manages what between W 57th and 110th Street, Central Park West to the Hudson.
  • Join occasional weekday field days on the Upper West Side to see the buildings you have been calling.
What you bring
  • Hold a business conversation with a property manager or a shop owner and stay level when it goes badly.
  • Make dozens of calls a day and have the last one sound like the first.
  • Take a no and not carry it into the next call.
  • Write short, clear American English — a follow-up email a busy person will read and answer.
  • Run your own follow-up over weeks without being reminded.
  • Work from a quiet space in New York with a computer, a headset, and ordinary office software.
What success looks like
  • A building can be served or it cannot. You are the one who finds out.
  • You reach the person who decides, not a general mailbox, and the buildings that qualify get checked instead of stalling.
  • Nothing you opened goes quiet on its own. The follow-up happens because you scheduled it, not because someone asked where it went.
  • After a few months you know the neighborhood's owners and managing agents as accounts with histories, not as names on a list.

Schedule: Part-time or full-time, Monday through Friday, New York business hours. No weekend or evening calling. Occasional Upper West Side field days during the week.
