The 61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support staff for Columbia Doctors. This position supports Columbia Doctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast, with over 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses across more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.

Job Summary:

The Dental Hygienist's primary responsibilities include assisting the Doctor in clinical treatments, serving as a liaison between patients and the Doctor, and accurately recording information in patient charts. Under supervision, the hygienist may perform legally allowed expanded functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Attend training seminars and continuing education courses as required.
• Educate patients on their dental needs, support necessary treatments, and promote the practice internally and externally.
• Greet patients, seat them, and prepare the treatment area.
• Review and update patients' medical histories, motivators, and concerns.
• Monitor patient progress and document results.
• Take, process, label, and mount patient x-rays, including duplicates.
• Educate patients about their dental health during treatment.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions, including brushing, flossing, and use of perio aids, waterjets, disclosing methods, stimulators, nutrition, and oral rinses.
• Distribute educational materials and samples, maintaining these resources.
• Assist the Doctor during examinations and record relevant information.
• Ensure patient charts are complete and all services are accurately recorded.
• Return charts to the appointment administrator and sign off after dismissing patients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hygiene treatment room, sterilization area, instruments, and trays.
• Assist in maintaining all office areas for staff and patients.
• Manage supplies and keep treatment rooms stocked and clean.
• Clean, sharpen, oil, and maintain hygiene instruments.
• Escort patients between treatment and reception areas.
• Maintain and service units, including changing filters.
• Assist the Doctor with clinical treatments as time permits.
• Support other staff members as needed.
• Assist with recall systems, cancellations, no-shows, and patient confirmations.
• Follow up with patients who had difficult sessions.
• Maintain x-ray processor solutions, perform monthly cleaning, and check levels daily.
• Prepare water for distillation.
• Inventory and maintain equipment daily.

Job Qualifications:

• High School diploma required; completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program is mandatory.
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) required.

Salary Range: $84,460.00 - $ per year.
