Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

Deliver comprehensive hygiene care with a strong focus on prevention, patient education, and long-term oral health outcomes.

General Accountabilities
  • Provide exceptional and compassionate preventive dental care while delivering high quality service
  • Educates patients to feel confident, informed and empowered in their health decisions
  • Fosters a welcoming and respectful environment that prioritizes patient care and clinical excellence
  • Uses dental instruments to check and clean gums
  • Check lymph nodes to detect swelling or tenderness associated with dental disease
  • Examine gums for sores or disease using probes and other dental instruments. Apply fluoride and other cavity protectors
  • Chart and record conditions of disease for diagnosis and treatment
  • Take X-rays
  • Administer local anesthetics, as directed
  • Provide patients with proper instruction for treatment of disease. Forms and molds cast impressions

Job Qualifications

Education:

Associate's degree

Experience:

2+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, judgment and decision making
