Certified Dental Assistant; Peninsula Community Health Center

Position Summary

As a member of the Dental Department, we are hiring Dental Assistants who will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the team. Dental Assistants will provide chairside support to Pediatric and General Dentistry and allow for our Dentists to provide efficient, high quality care to patients. They are responsible for providing hands‑on support and completing prep work so Dentists can complete the required tasks at maximum speed and efficiency.

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Dental Assistant Certificate required.
• 1 year of related experience in a dental setting with four-handed dentistry, preferred.
• Knowledge of Dental Software and EHR (e.g. Dentrix), highly desired.
• Ability to adhere to National Patient Safety Goals.

• Assists the Dentist with routine procedures.
• Prepares treatment room and tray setups for dental provider.
• Takes digital X-rays and impressions.
• Orders dental supplies and maintains inventory.
• Completes infection control sterilization of all equipment and instruments.
• Schedules appointments and maintains reception area as required.
• Distributes patient educational materials as needed.

$47,840/annum based on 40 regular hours per week.

Peninsula Community Health Center: 1967 Turnbull Ave, Bronx NY 10473. Candidates must be flexible to work shifts between Mondays‑Fridays 8am‑5pm. Note that training and dental coverage will also be required in our Flagship Dental Office on Southern Boulevard in the Bronx.
