medi Dental care is seeking an experienced Dental Treatment Coordinator / Front Desk Receptionist to join our growing team in Astoria. We are looking for someone who is organized, professional, confident with patients,and experienced with front desk operations, treatment coordination, insurance, scheduling, and patient communication.
medi Dental care is not a typical dental office. We are a New York State Article 28 facility built around an integrated care model that brings dental and medical care together under one roof. Our mission is simple:make healthcare more convenient, more connected, and more accessible for the communities we serve.
ResponsibilitiesThe Dental Treatment Coordinator / Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for supporting both patient care coordination and daily front desk operations, including:
- Greeting patients and providing a professional front desk experience
- Answering phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries
- Scheduling, confirming, and managing patient appointments
- Presenting dental treatment plans clearly and professionally
- Reviewing insurance benefits, coverage, and patient responsibility
- Explaining payment options and financing options to patients
- Collecting patient payments and discussing balances when needed
- Coordinating with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and management
- Following up with patients who have pending treatment plans
- Helping patients understand the value and urgency of their care
- Maintaining accurate patient records and notes
- Verifying insurance and obtaining breakdowns when needed
- Supporting patient intake, paperwork, and check-in/check-out
- Keeping the front desk organized and running smoothly
- Dental front desk experience required
- Treatment coordinating experience preferred
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, scheduling, and patient billing
- Experience with Dentrix is a plus
- Comfortable discussing treatment costs, payment plans, and financing
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dental office environment
- Bilingual is a plus, but not required
We are looking for someone who can manage the front desk professionally while also helping patients understand and move forward with their treatment. The right candidate should be confident, organized,patient-focused, and able to follow up consistently without letting appointments, insurance issues, or treatment plans fall through the cracks.
