“Experience as a receptionist or clerk in a dentist's office is not acceptable towards meeting the qualification requirements”.

• Preparing patients for exam or treatment
• Maintaining equipment
• Mixing cements

• Mixing composites
• Maintaining records

• A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 600 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants.

OR

• A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 300 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants plus six (6) months full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing all of the following duties: taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs, assisting dentist at chairside, sterilizing dental instrument using autoclave.

OR

• A four-year High School diploma or its educational equivalent plus one (1) year of full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing the duties described in second requirement mentioned above.

OR

• A satisfactory combination of education and experience which is equivalent to requirements mentioned above.
• However, all candidates must have at least a four-year High School diploma or GED.
