Pediatric Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatric dentists chairside during cleanings, exams, sealants, fillings, and other treatments.
• Help create a positive and calming environment for children and their families.
• Prepare and disinfect treatment rooms and organize kid‑friendly materials and instruments.
• Provide patient education on brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene habits tailored to young patients.
• Take and process pediatric dental X‑rays with care and precision.
• Manage instruments and sterilization according to safety protocols.
• Support smooth patient flow by working closely with the front desk and other clinical team members.
• Comfort and guide children through their visit with patience and a friendly attitude.

• Experience working with children is a major plus — whether in a dental setting, school, or childcare.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the pediatric dental field.
• Excellent communication skills and a warm, upbeat personality.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment.
• Radiology certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend or other dental software is a plus.
• Knowledge of sterilization protocols, pediatric dental procedures, and X‑ray processing.
