Position Summary

With attending radiologist supervision, the radiologist assistant will review the medical record and perform all services related to adult gastrointestinal fluoroscopy in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department settings.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform adult gastrointestinal and genitourinary fluoroscopy on outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department patients.
  • Scribe and perform dictations for body imaging, primarily abdomen X‑ray and fluoroscopy exams.
  • Respond to consultation requests from referring physicians.
  • Collect, organize, and summarize clinical data and supporting materials and present them to the sub‑specialty radiologist; work closely with the radiologist to develop an imaging plan and communicate it to referring physicians and patients.
  • Schedule and coordinate consultation between patients and radiologists; assist in scheduling complex imaging cases that require the radiologist’s presence during exam.
  • Monitor imaging cases that may require direct supervision to ensure optimal outcomes and targeted imaging during the exam.
  • Work closely with radiologists and assist in tracking critical results and imaging follow‑up recommendations.
Education

Relevant medical or allied health education required; specific degree not specified.

Experience

7+ years experience as a Radiologist Assistant.

Prior leadership experience.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Efficient, quick, and careful work in a busy environment.
  • Professional and friendly manner with patients.
  • Clinical understanding of IRB and manuscript writing.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and lead other Radiologist Assistants.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current, active, and unrestricted New York State License in Radiographic Technology (RT).
