Responsibilities
- Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental students.
- Instruct dental students and dental assistant students in techniques and utilization of four-handed dentistry and infection control.
- Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; ensure safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials.
- Maintain patient files and charts.
- Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier.
- May assist with training and reviewing work of student employees.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program and 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
- Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (RDA or CDA).
- Knowledge of a foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Korean, Chinese).
