Overview
Our client, a leading academic and research institution specializing in dental education, is seeking a Dental Hygienist-Registered to join their dedicated clinical team. As a Dental Hygienist-Registered, you will be supporting the Department of Dental Medicine, working alongside a team committed to excellence in patient care and education. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail, which will align successfully within this dynamic organization.
Responsibilities- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including prophylaxis, root planing, and scaling to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, performing intra-oral and extra-oral exams, and recording vital signs.
- Capture high-quality diagnostic X-rays, including digital and panoramic images, to assist in treatment planning.
- Support surgical and sedation procedures by monitoring patient recovery and providing specialized hygiene care for surgical patients.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care, especially for those recovering from oral surgery or periodontal procedures.
- Current New York State license to practice Dental Hygiene (RDH).
- Active CPR/BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred, with a background in Oral Surgery or working with IV Sedation patients being a significant plus.
- Ability to work effectively within an academic setting with diverse patient populations and team members.
- Must pass mandated medical clearance and background checks.
