Certified Dental Assistant – Faculty Practice (Four-Handed Chairside)

Location: New York, NY 10010 (Fully Onsite)

Pay Range: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour

Shift /

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week (Flexible shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Project Duration: 3–6 Months + (Contract with extension potential)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable Certified Dental Assistant to join a premier Faculty Practice at a leading New York City dental institution. In this role, you will be a mission‑critical asset providing top‑tier assistance to dental residents, clinical faculty, and students across a diverse, fast‑paced clinical training and private practice environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chairside Assistance: Provide expert, four‑handed chairside dental assistance to faculty, residents, and students during wide‑ranging clinical and specialized surgical procedures.

  • Surgical & Sedation Support: Assist with specialized oral surgery workflows, including the setup, administration, and execution of IV sedation/general anesthesia; continuously monitor patient vital signs and recovery post‑operation.

  • Clinical Procedures: Perform diagnostic tests, assist in preparing precise dental castings, and perform authorized minor dental and surgical workflows under direct clinical supervision.

  • Patient Care &

    Education:

    Dispense mandated medications and provide clear, empathetic pre‑ and post‑operative care and recovery instructions to patients and families.

  • Hazmat & Safety Compliance: Maintain strict sterilization protocols across all operatory spaces; ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of clinical chemicals, biological hazards, and medical waste in line with OSHA and healthcare compliance mandates.

What You Bring to the Team
  • Certification &

    Education:

    Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant Training Program.
    Active Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 2+ years of general dental assistant experience. 1–2 years of related experience including exposure to oral surgery workflows with IV sedation or general anesthesia environments is required.

  • Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in four‑handed chairside dental techniques and the confident operation of standard dental lab and operatory equipment.

  • Safety & Compliance: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to support critical patient monitoring and safety protocols.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interface effectively with diverse dental residents, faculty, and patients.

Note to Applicants

This position is fully onsite in Manhattan and requires immediate availability once baseline medical clearance forms are completed. Candidates must be authorized to work on W2 without sponsorship. Third‑party vendor solicitations or C2C arrangements will strictly not be considered.
