Lead Dental Assistant/Radiographer will perform digital intra‑oral and extra‑oral radiographic imaging, including cone‑beam computed tomography, bitewing, periapical, occlusal and panoramic views in analog/film and digital/plate/sensor formats. Responsibilities include reviewing radiographs according to guidelines, processing and routing imaging materials, greeting, screening and directing patients, confirming patient authorization for radiographic examinations, providing four‑handed chairside assistance to dental students, assigning patients to students, monitoring instrument collection, dispensing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance.

• Capture digital intra‑oral and extra‑oral radiographic images (CBCT, bitewing, periapical, occlusal, panoramic) in analog and digital formats.
• Review radiographs within institutional guidelines.
• Process and route imaging‑related materials.
• Greet, screen and direct patients.
• Confirm patient authorization for radiographic examinations.
• Provide four‑handed chairside assistance to dental students.
• Assign patients to dental students within guidelines.
• Monitor instrument collection; dispense supplies, disposable materials, instruments, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and uphold quality and safety standards, including proper recycling, disposal of infectious materials, infection control protocols, and HIPAA compliance.

High School diploma or equivalent.

NYSDOH approved CBCT training for dental assistants. Valid New York State Radiology Technology license or Dental Hygiene license.

Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program and 2 years of related experience. Certification as a Dental Assistant.

Ability to provide radiographic imaging services consistent with current national radiographic and radiologic guidelines.

• Knowledge of four‑handed chairside dental techniques and dental lab equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Certification as a Dental Assistant.

Knowledge of a foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Korean, Chinese).

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD 38.10
. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts and represents base pay only, excluding additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
