Dental Administrator

Job Description Overview

The Dental Administrator oversees the business operations of Betances Dental practice, encompassing financial management, staff supervision, patient care coordination, and ensuring smooth office functioning, all while adhering to regulations. The role reports directly to the Director of Operations and collaborates with the Dental Director and the Chief Medical Officer.

• Manage day-to-day operations of the dental office, directing staff assignments and activities in accordance with office policies and applicable laws.
• Collaborate with Operations, Medical, Finance, Purchasing, and Maintenance/Facilities teams.
• Monitor patient flow and manage staff assignments to maintain efficient operations.
• Orient and train new staff members.
• Provide support to the Dental Director for problem‑solving related to patient safety, care, and service.
• Serve as backup for Dental PCR to schedule appointments and perform other office responsibilities.
• Represent the dental department in meetings and committees as needed or assigned.
• Work effectively with all providers, staff, other departments, community partners, and leadership.

• Act as Super User for eClinical
  
  Works (eCW) and provide support to the dental team.
• Utilize dashboard reports to monitor patient satisfaction, no‑shows, walk‑outs, etc., and develop corrective plans.
• Provide non‑clinical in‑service training.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and established agency and departmental objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with the Dental Director to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives and implement new programs.

• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Registered Dental Hygienist or Certified Dental Assistant preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of dental work experience in ambulatory care required.
• Knowledge of patient registration practices, managed care, Medicare and Medicaid guidelines, and uninsured patient handling.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance – Article 28, HRSA, OSHA, NCQA, etc.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS365 with electronic dental experience.
• Expertise in Microsoft Access and Excel.
• Experience with Dental EHR systems; eCW experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
