Historic Preservation Architect

The Historic Preservation Architect leads the effort to restore the four Frontier Town buildings to their original form, aesthetic, and function. This role focuses on preservation methodology, historic material assessment, and ensuring precision in the recreation or repair of original elements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct onsite evaluation of historic fabric, materials, and structural conditions.
- Develop restoration strategies, including in‑kind material replacement and conservation techniques.
- Prepare historic elevations, restoration details, and material specifications.
- Ensure all restoration work meets SHPO requirements and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.
- Support sourcing of historically accurate lumber, logs, roofing materials, and finishes.
- Licensed Architect or Preservation Specialist with 5+ years of historic restoration experience.
- Expertise in wooden structure restoration and traditional construction techniques.
- Experience preparing documents for SHPO or federal/state historic preservation approvals.
Compensation: $32.00 per hour
