Position Overview
The Ancillary Specialist - Commercial Furniture is responsible for curating, evaluating, and presenting ancillary furniture solutions (seating, tables, lighting, storage, accessories, and workplace innovations) that elevate client proposals and differentiate COR in the market. This role bridges sales, design, and vendor partners to deliver inspired solutions that align with client needs, design intent, and project budgets.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and creative professional with strong design judgment and deep knowledge of ancillary furniture, skilled at transforming conceptual direction into clear product strategies to effectively support sales and design teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop curated ancillary product packages aligned with design intent, function, cost, and timelines.
- Translate A&D mood boards, programming, and conceptual layouts into tailored furniture options.
- Present product options with strong design, pricing rationale, and clear visual communication (presentations, lookbooks).
- Collaborate with design teams to create programming and layouts when plans are incomplete.
- Lead vendor qualification, selection, pricing strategy collaboration, and curation of differentiated product solutions.
- Interpret incomplete or uncertain RFPs and generate compelling, well-rounded ancillary solutions that bring clarity and added value to client projects.
- Recommend product alternatives and value-engineering solutions without compromising design intent.
- Serve as an internal resource for workplace trends, innovative ancillary solutions, and emerging brands that differentiate proposals and elevate design outcomes.
- Maintain broad, current knowledge of ancillary lines across multiple manufacturers, including awareness of pricing tiers, lead times, sustainability standards, trends, and product performance.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with manufacturer reps to ensure access to current product knowledge, samples, and competitive pricing.
- Document and standardize ancillary curation methods to create repeatable best practices.
- Build and maintain a visual, searchable online Ancillary Library for internal teams.

Required Education, Skills, And Experience- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from a CIDA-accredited school
- Minimum of 3 years post-degree professional design experience
- Proven experience in the commercial furniture industry with emphasis on ancillary furniture.
- Deep product knowledge across multiple manufacturers and categories.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or CET is required
- Experience with Adobe InDesign is preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
- Ability to read and understand floor plans and other related technical drawings
- Collaborative mindset, working seamlessly with sales, design, operations, and vendor partners.
- Flexible, proactive learner with solid problem ‑ solving, analytical, and decision ‑ making skills.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team, adapting to shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Work performed in a fast-paced office environment daily, with visits to various sites, including warehouses, construction sites, client sites, and offices
