We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer (AI-native) to help shape the future of fertility care. This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role with the potential to grow into staff-level scope for the right person.
You’ll lead design for Gaia
, our direct-to-consumer patient experience, helping turn it into the front door for fertility care. This is a true zero-to-one opportunity: defining patient journeys, designing AI-powered experiences, and partnering closely with product, engineering, and research to ship meaningful outcomes for patients.
In addition to owning Gaia’s patient experience, you’ll also serve as a design partner to product pods working on employer- and clinic-facing products.
What You’ll DoOwn and evolve our patient-facing experience
- Design and ship end-to-end patient journeys, from onboarding through ongoing care
- Build zero-to-one patient education and decision-support experiences
- Design AI-powered concierge and chat experiences that feel trustworthy, empathetic, and human
- Improve clarity and usability around insurance and benefits flows
- Continuously raise the bar on trust, confidence, and conversion for DTC patients
Be a strategic product partner
- Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers as a full product owner, not just a delivery designer
- Partner with other product pods on employer- and clinic-facing tools as needed
- Use research (qualitative and quantitative) to inform design decisions and validate solutions
Design with leverage
- Use AI tools and workflows to increase velocity and impact
- Balance speed with quality, knowing when to go deep and when to ship and learn
- Advocate for strong design craft while staying pragmatic and outcome-oriented
What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)
- Gaia is clearly positioned as the front door for fertility care
- Patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their decisions
- AI-powered experiences are intuitive, helpful, and trusted
- Conversion and engagement for DTC patients measurably improve
- Product teams see you as a thought partner and design leader
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer building user-facing software products
- Experience leveraging AI in the design process, and comfortability with AI tools
- Experience shipping large features or owning substantial product surface areas
- Strong end-to‑end product design skills (discovery → execution → iteration)
- Hands‑on experience leading or conducting user research
- Excellent taste and a passion for consumer‑grade design quality
- be able to work from our office in Manhattan 3 days a week
- Experience in health tech or regulated consumer products
- Frontend engineering experience or comfort building prototypes / agents
- Prior experience designing AI-driven or conversational interfaces
- If you think this role is made for you, email rosaily with 3 bullet points as to why and a link to what you're most proud of having built
- Designers from strong consumer or health‑tech companies
- Designers who have thrived in startup environments and owned ambiguous problems
- Agency‑only backgrounds
- Designers with exclusively large‑company experience and no startup exposure
- Visual designers without hands‑on product design experience
- Own a mission‑critical product experience with real patient impact
- Work directly with product and engineering leadership
- Design AI‑native experiences at an early, formative stage
- Competitive compensation including base salary, bonus, and equity
- Hybrid NYC work environment with a highly collaborative product team
