We are seeking a Senior Landscape Designer with a strong design voice and the confidence to work with a high degree of creative and professional independence
. This is a leadership role for a designer who can originate ideas, set design direction, and carry projects forward with minimal oversight — from early concept through construction. You will be trusted to shape both the creative and practical aspects of projects, engage directly with clients and community stakeholders, and contribute meaningfully to a small landscape design firm with citywide impact
.
- 5+ years professional garden design and build experience
- Experience producing construction documents, details, and drawings to communicate design intent and support installation using industry standard tools including AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, hand drawing, etc.
- Familiarity with exterior design materials, systems, assemblies, and installation practices – including horticultural elements
- Substantial, on-site project management experience and comfort coordinating with trade partners and other stakeholders in real time from concept phase through final turnover
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Originate and develop landscape concepts that are site‑specific, systems‑driven and aligned with Field Form’s design values
- Translate ideas into compelling drawings, diagrams, and presentations that communicate both concept and constructability
- Lead planting and material strategies that balance ecological performance with strong spatial and aesthetic outcomes
- Take ownership of projects from concept through documentation, coordination, and construction support
- Make informed, independent design and technical decisions while knowing when to collaborate or elevate
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to scope, schedule, and budget
- Maintain organized project documentation and communication
- Act as a primary client contact and design lead in meetings and presentations
- Navigate feedback thoughtfully while protecting design integrity
- Participate in public, civic, and community‑facing projects, including coordination with agencies, partners, and stakeholders
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and fabricators
- Support construction administration through site visits, reviews, and issue resolution
- Contribute to permitting and agency review processes as required
