Save this Listing---Job Overview Rift Studio now in its 10th year of operation, is looking to hire some new team members for a busy Spring and Summer 2026 (and beyond)  Responsibilities  
• Assist the owner in executing cutlists for sheet material, using an Altendorf sliding table saw and Festool contour edgebander. Based in the Brooklyn Navy Yard  
• Assist the finishing team with sanding and water-based finishing in the shop  
• Assist the install team with onsite millwork installations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn  Requirements  A few years doing precise and clean work with power tools would be ideal. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (A lot of times we’re communicating complicated technical information to each other over text and email.) Schedule is not exactly 9-5, but could be pretty regular.

Rift Studio creates custom millwork for a wide range of architects, designers, and decorators, including recipients of the AD100, Frederic It List, and Elle Décor A-List awards. Recent projects have involved collaborations with Colin King, Christopher Farr, Jeff Schlarb, Olivia Stutz, Tom Delavan, Pappas Miron, Becky Carter, Jae Joo, Jennifer Hunter, Salon 21 and Beni Rugs.

We’ve installed our projects in some of NYC’s most iconic buildings, including The El Dorado, Herzog & de Meuron’s 56 Leonard Street, The Beekman, The Bergen, The Remsen, One High Line, The Lantern House, 67 Riverside Drive, 443 Greenwich Street, and 555 West End Avenue.

For every commission we take on, whether it’s a standalone piece of furniture or a suite of millwork for an entire home, we pay exacting attention to proportion, material, craftsmanship and architectural context and history. We’re just as comfortable fabricating from an architect’s final blueprints as we are working with individual clients to design pieces from scratch. In everything we do, we strive to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are timeless additions to the living spaces of New York City and beyond.
