Role description
ARCADIS is seeking a Staff Architect Designer, with 5 to 10 years’ experience, to join our Resilience Division team out of the New York City / Westchester area. This is an exciting opportunity for a self‑motivated individual to join our team and, with the support of a nationally recognized technical staff from one of the best‑qualified consulting firms in the country, take on commercial, industrial, and municipal water resource infrastructure design and construction projects throughout the tristate area and nationally.
The Staff Designer will develop design projects, coordinate with other disciplines and sub‑consultants, and interact with various stakeholders. The ideal candidates for this role are those with expertise and technical knowledge in design projects, with an emphasis on detail design experience rather than direct design experience.

You must understand design concepts and construction methods through a critical‑thinking and problem‑solving lens. Conceptual design and design development responsibilities include renderings, detail development, material research, code research, and site/field visits. The ideal candidate will be expected to use both oral and written communication skills to effectively progress projects with other disciplines and stakeholders.
Qualifications& Experience
- Knowledge of masonry, concrete, and steel construction design and detailing in municipal and industrial environments
- Client management and overall communication skills with strong leadership experience

- International Code Council codes experience
