Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our team and gain hands‑on experience in architectural lighting design. You’ll work alongside our designers and project managers, contributing to real projects across all phases—from schematic design through construction administration. This is an opportunity to build foundational skills in lighting design production, project coordination, and professional practice within a collaborative studio environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of lighting design concepts and layouts under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Produce lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, and detail drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Support the team with lighting calculations, fixture research, and photometric data gathering.
  • Help prepare presentation materials, renderings, and reports for client meetings.
  • Assist with specification writing, submittal reviews, and construction administration tasks.
  • Coordinate with team members to maintain organized project files and documentation.
  • Participate in internal design reviews and contribute ideas to ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Lighting Design.
  • Familiarity with AGI
    32 or other lighting calculation software.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Interest in learning and growing within the field of architectural lighting.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Experience with Bluebeam for document review and markup.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., Sketch Up, Rhino, or 3ds Max).
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a mix of technical and creative lighting work.
