About

Marvel is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our New York, NY or Richmond, VA office to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of landscape architecture projects from concept through construction . This role is particularly suited to candidates with strong technical and construction administration experience, and a proven ability to navigate complex public projects and coordinate with city agencies, such as NYC Parks, DOT, and EDC.

This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong project leadership, client-facing, and team leadership skills, who can lead projects with strong design sensibility while ensuring schedule, budget, and technical delivery.

Senior Landscape Architects at Marvel work closely with Partners, Directors, and Associates to manage project scope, coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams, and guide internal designers through all phases of work. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects meet quality, cost, and performance expectations, while also supporting landscape team development through mentorship and oversight of internal production to ensure clarity, consistency, and technical rigor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
  • 8–12 years of professional experience, including project management and delivery
  • Licensed Landscape Architect (or actively pursuing licensure)
  • Proven experience leading projects through all phases:
    Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
  • Strong background in site planning, grading, paving, planting, and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, coordinate consultants, and interface with clients and agencies
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Cloud; working knowledge of Lumion and Enscape

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage landscape projects through all phases of design and construction
  • Oversee project design, scope, schedule, and coordination with consultants
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and agencies
  • Guide and mentor junior and intermediate staff
  • Review technical documentation for quality, constructability, and consistency
  • Participate in cost reviews and support budget alignment
  • Contribute to proposals, interviews, and project pursuits
