Full-time Interior Designer / Architect (in-person, location: Lower Manhattan studio)
We are looking for an interior designer/architect with 2–4 years of project management experience in architecture & interior architecture. The ideal candidate should be outgoing, highly productive in CAD, and experienced in residential work. The candidate must manage multiple projects varying in size.
The candidate should be enthusiastic, hard‑working, well‑organized, and highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must have experience dealing with clients, vendors, and contractors, good design sense, and knowledge in creating construction documents.
The role includes responsibilities for all or some of the project phases such as Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review.
Prerequisites- 2–4 years of full‑time experience at an architecture or interior design firm
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Skilled in producing/managing CD sets
- Strong project management and consultant/contractor coordination
- Experience with client and vendor relations
- Knowledge of NYC design resources (hard materials, millwork, textiles, plumbing, lighting, hardware, etc.)
- Familiar with NY/NYC/CT building codes
- Able to source and coordinate finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting, textiles, and window treatments
- Proficient in reviewing shop drawings and drafting interior plans, elevations, and details
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in creating coordinated construction document sets and millwork drawings
- Resolves technical and code issues
- Experience in reviewing contractor RFPs & RFIs
- Highly CAD proficient and comfortable in Word, Excel, InDesign, and Photoshop
