Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Acelab is the AI-powered Material Hub for the AEC industry, used by 20,000+ architecture firms to discover, evaluate, and specify building products.

Our Revit Integration connects Material Hub directly to BIM workflows, letting architects link products and materials to their models, exchange data between Revit and Acelab, and automate schedules, reports, and specs. We’re building a deeper, smarter, more visual BIM layer across the platform.

The Role

We’re hiring a Revit/BIM Engineer to own and evolve our Revit plugin and the broader BIM data layer underneath it. You’ll lead the next chapter of our integration and expand into adjacent areas like 3D visualization, IFC interoperability, and dynamic parameter automation.

This is a high‑ownership role for someone who has shipped real Revit add‑ins, thinks in C# and JS/TS, and gets excited by the intersection of BIM, materials data, and great visual UX.

What You’ll Work On
  • Own the Acelab Revit plugin end‑to‑end: architecture, roadmap, releases, and quality
  • Build new BIM features: dynamic parameter automation, deeper material/object mapping, schedule and spec automation, model‑driven documentation
  • Develop 3D visualization and rendering experiences inside Material Hub using three.js and IFC.js, so product data comes alive visually
  • Improve IFC and Revit interoperability so Acelab works cleanly with broader BIM ecosystems (Rhino, Forma, Archi

    CAD where it makes sense)
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and AI to translate AEC workflows into elegant software
  • Help define our long‑term BIM strategy as Acelab becomes the digital knowledge center for AE firms
Why Acelab

Real ownership. You’ll ship features that architects and designers use every day. No roadmap theater. AI at the center. We use AI internally and build it into the product. You’ll be surrounded by people who think seriously about it — not just hype it. Early‑stage leverage. We’re small and growing fast. The systems you design now will define how we scale.

Competitive compensation: salary, equity, and benefits commensurate with experience.

Must-haves
  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong track record building Revit add‑ins in C# using the Revit API
  • Experience with 3D web visualization, ideally three.js
  • Familiarity with IFC and IFC.js, or a strong appetite to go deep on it
  • Solid full‑stack instincts: comfortable moving between desktop (Revit), web (React/Type Script), and APIs
  • Clear product sense and a bias toward shipping
Nice-to-haves
  • Background or strong interest in architecture, AEC, or building product data
  • Experience with Dynamo, py Revit, or Forge/Autodesk Platform Services
  • Rendering or computational geometry experience
  • Open‑source contributions in the AEC/BIM space
  • Experience working closely with architects or BIM managers as users
