Role Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and intellectually curious individual to join our architectural studio as a Technical Review Associate. This position supports the Technical Director and project teams by reviewing drawings, identifying inconsistencies, and helping maintain high-quality documentation standards across the office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing work carefully, finding mistakes before they become problems, and learning how buildings are designed and documented.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Review architectural drawing sets for consistency, clarity, and completeness
  • Identify missing information, inconsistencies, or coordination issues in plans
  • Assist in identifying potential building code or zoning concerns
  • Provide written comments and feedback to project teams before submissions
  • Support the Technical Director in maintaining internal technical standards
  • Help ensure drawings reflect realistic construction practices
  • Assist with researching code questions and documentation requirements
  • Learn building codes, zoning regulations, and technical design standards over time
  • Communicate technical observations clearly and constructively to the team
Ideal Candidate Traits
  • Obsessive about details — naturally notices inconsistencies others overlook
  • Enjoys finding problems before they become bigger issues
  • Patient and methodical when reviewing complex information
  • Intellectually curious and interested in how buildings are designed and constructed
  • Willing to learn building code and technical regulations
  • Strong practical judgment and common sense
  • Not ego-driven and comfortable supporting the team
  • Comfortable being the checker ensuring quality
  • Organized and disciplined in tracking issues and comments
  • Comfortable asking questions and verifying assumptions rather than guessing
Growth Path

Over time, the candidate will gain exposure to building code interpretation, technical architectural detailing, plan review processes, and construction coordination. This role can develop into a Senior Technical Architect or Technical Coordinator position.

Candidate should be familiar with Architectural programs and must be an overall great communicator.
