Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Faherty is entering a defining new chapter. The brand is evolving from its coastal roots into the Men’s Advanced Contemporary space—an elevated, European‑influenced aesthetic defined by world‑class materials, refined construction, and a relaxed‑but‑tailored fit philosophy, all grounded in the coastal spirit at the heart of the brand. The Director, Men’s Design is responsible for leading the creative direction and execution of the Men’s product across all categories.

This role translates seasonal creative vision into a cohesive, elevated, and commercially viable assortment, while championing the brand’s evolution in fabrication, tailoring, and proportion and leading a high‑performing design team.

Reporting to the VP, Men’s Creative Director, this role serves as the key partner in bringing brand vision to life through product, ensuring alignment across Design, Merchandising and Marketing.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the end‑to‑end creative direction of Men’s product across all categories
  • Translate seasonal concept and brand direction into clear product strategy and design POV
  • Drive innovation in silhouette, proportion, fabrication, and details‑first design thinking
  • Ensure a consistent and elevated design point of view across the assortment
  • Refine and elevate product through structured design reviews and critique
  • Translate feedback from leadership into actionable design direction
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Men’s design team across categories
  • Set creative standards and expectations for design output and execution
  • Guide designers in translating concept into differentiated, high‑quality product
  • Build internal capability and foster growth across the team
  • Manage the design calendar and oversee the team’s day‑to‑day priorities to ensure all design milestones are met
Design Process & Organizational Development
  • Partner with Design Operations to build and maintain a structured, milestone‑driven design process
  • Drive efficiency and clarity across development cycles
  • Strengthen concept‑to‑product translation throughout the design process
  • Embed a details‑first approach to design and product development
  • Support a 360° approach to assortment building, ensuring cohesive product stories
Merchandising & Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to ensure assortments align with financial targets and IMU goals
  • Support development of product that meets both DTC and Wholesale needs and ensure critical milestones and deliverables are met
  • Collaborate on assortment architecture, key franchises, and growth opportunities
  • Align design direction with commercial viability while maintaining brand integrity
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Product Development, Production and Marketing
Key Looks & Brand Expression
  • Define seasonal Key Looks that connect concept to product and storytelling
  • Ensure alignment between product, campaign and brand expression
  • Partner with Marketing on campaign and e‑commerce styling direction
  • Participate in on‑set creative direction for key moments as needed
What You’ll Have
  • 8+ years of experience in Men’s design, with leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of both creative design and commercial product strategy
  • Proven ability to lead and develop design teams
  • Experience building and evolving design processes within a growing organization
  • Strong knowledge of materials, construction and product development
  • Ability to balance creative vision with business and financial objectives
