Architect/Interior Designer Elaine Santos Design is seeking an interior designer/architect with 2-4 years of project management in architecture & interior architecture experience to come work at our lower Manhattan studio. This is an in person role (not remote).
The ideal candidate for our design studio would be an outgoing individual with abilities in design, hand and computer drawing, highly productive in CAD. Experience in residential work is preferred. Experience in all aspects of design and production.
The candidate must be able to manage more than one project at one time-varying in size. The qualified candidate will need to be enthusiastic, hard-working, well-organized, and highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate should have experience in dealing with clients, vendors, and contractors. The candidate should have good design sense and be knowledgeable in creating construction documents.
The Architect/Interior Designer will be responsible for all or some of the project phases such as:
Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review.
- 2–4 years full-time experience at an architecture or interior design firm
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Skilled in producing/managing CD sets
- Strong project management + consultant/contractor coordination
- Experience with client + vendor relations
- Knowledge of NYC design resources (hard materials, millwork, textiles, plumbing, lighting, hardware, etc.)
- Familiar with NY/NYC/CT building codes
- Able to source + coordinate finishes, fixtures, furniture, lighting, textiles, and window treatments
- Proficient in reviewing shop drawings and drafting interior plans, elevations + details
