Position Overview
We are seeking creative and passionate Apparel Designers to join our Children’s Apparel team, with opportunities available from Associate Designer through Director level. This role will focus on designing trend‑right, commercially successful collections for Toddler Girls while contributing to the broader Children’s Apparel business.
Depending on experience and level, candidates will have the opportunity to own product categories, lead seasonal design initiatives, influence assortment strategies, mentor team members, and help shape the future direction of the brand.
The ideal candidate combines strong design sensibility, market awareness, and business acumen with a passion for creating products that delight both children and parents.
This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with Merchandising, Sales, Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Licensing teams to deliver innovative, high‑quality products that meet customer needs and business objectives.
What You’ll Do- Design and develop seasonal Children’s Apparel collections, with a primary focus on Toddler Girls, from concept through production.
- Research fashion trends, consumer insights, competitive assortments, and market opportunities to inform product strategy and innovation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, and Sourcing teams to identify customer needs and support business objectives.
- Contribute to and/or lead seasonal assortment strategies, category direction, and product line architecture based on role level.
- Create innovative, trend‑right designs that align with customer, brand, and retail requirements.
- Manage multiple product categories and development calendars, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved on time.
- Develop compelling design presentations, seasonal concepts, color palettes, fabrications, and product narratives.
- Participate in and/or lead fit sessions, product reviews, and cross‑functional meetings throughout the development process.
- Review and approve technical packages, fabrics, trims, lab dips, strike‑offs, and samples to ensure design intent and quality standards are maintained.
- Partner with costing and sourcing teams to balance aesthetic vision, quality expectations, and target margin requirements.
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior design talent; provide leadership and direction to the broader design team based on role level.
- Influence and help shape long‑term product strategies, innovation initiatives, and organizational design capabilities.
- Associate‑through Director‑level experience in Apparel Design, with opportunities available across multiple organizational levels.
- Experience designing children’s apparel, licensed products, or fashion apparel within a retail, wholesale, or branded environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with 3D design tools (Browzwear, CLO, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent sketching, rendering, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, garment construction, fabric development, fit, and the end‑to‑end product development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of licensed apparel programs is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence cross‑functional partners at all levels of the organization.
- Progressive leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, and developing talent.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance creativity, customer needs, and business objectives.
Multiple positions are available including:
Associate Designer, Designer, Senior Designer, Design Manager, or Director level. Placement will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, leadership capabilities, and overall alignment with business needs.
