Architectural Designer​/Junior Architect

Andrew Magnes Architecture is a growing architecture and interiors practice based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, led by architects Andrew Magnes and Christopher Boskey. Our work focuses primarily on thoughtfully crafted residential projects, ranging from apartment renovations and townhouses to ground‑up homes, with a strong emphasis on materials, light, spatial quality, and detailing. We are seeking talented and motivated Architectural Designers / Junior Architects to join our team as we embark on several exciting new projects.

The ideal candidate will be thoughtful, curious, and detail‑oriented, with a passion for residential design and construction. They should be interested not only in design, but also in understanding how buildings and interiors are assembled and brought to life.

• 1–3 years of professional experience, preferably in custom residential architecture
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Rhino
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Experience producing and coordinating drawing sets for NYC Department of Buildings submissions
• Experience assisting with project management and consultant coordination
• A strong interest in detailing, materials, construction methods, and craftsmanship
• A keen eye for color, composition, materials, light, spatial quality, and form
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced studio environment
• Must already reside in the New York metropolitan area and be willing to commute to our Red Hook, Brooklyn office
