Freelance Architect — Project Coordination (NYC)
We're a NYC-based general contractor looking for a freelance architect to join us on a large-scale commercial exhibition build-out project.
This is a coordination-focused role — not a design position. We need someone who is sharp, communicative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
About the Role- Freelance / Independent Contractor (1099)
- Full-time engagement for approximately 6 months
- Based in NYC — on-site presence required
- Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience
- Reviewing architectural and MEP drawings and flagging issues or open items
- Communicating directly with the client's architect via email on technical coordination matters
- Supporting RFI drafting and review
- Keeping our project management team informed and aligned on technical details
- 1–3 years of experience in architecture or construction coordination
- Comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — client-facing email correspondence is a key part of this role
- NY license not required
- Bilingual English / Korean strongly preferred
