Principal Product Designer, Loyalty – Expedia Group
Location:
New York, Dallas, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle (other EG locations discussed).
Play a leading role in crafting loyalty experiences that help millions of travelers discover, engage, and grow their relationship with Expedia. As a visible design and practice lead you will shape strategy, build great experiences, influence product direction, and mentor teammates.
Responsibilities- Tackle complex product challenges and brainstorm creative solutions.
- Shape experience strategy and roadmap, balancing present and future traveler needs.
- Create compelling visions for traveler experiences, defining success metrics.
- Partner with Product Managers and leaders to identify high‑impact opportunities.
- Negotiate experience priorities, balancing long‑term strategy and near‑term wins.
- Collaborate closely with User Research to uncover deep insights and translate them into design solutions.
- Adapt design processes for large, messy problems.
- Design user interactions that delight travelers and drive business results.
- Champion elegant, trustworthy experiences and uphold high standards.
- Mentor other designers and demonstrate great design.
- Improve accessibility and inclusivity for diverse user needs.
- Work with developers to ship designs effectively.
- Drive adoption of best practices and modular, reusable components.
- Expand and evolve the design system.
- Deliver clear, persuasive design stories and artifacts.
- Foster collaborative feedback culture across teams.
- Align cross‑functional teams toward shared objectives.
- 10+ years of design experience.
- Strong facilitation, information architecture, and technical platform skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design, HCI, UX, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Broad experience designing for native (iOS, Android) and web (responsive).
- Expertise presenting design work to executive leadership and securing buy‑in.
- Lead and facilitate experience vision workshops and design thinking.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to translate user needs into high‑quality design.
- Experience in large, complex, global organizations.
- Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, innovative, user‑centered designs.
- Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG
2.1AA) including screen‑reader support, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and assistive technologies. - Mentoring junior designers and driving team growth.
