Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Drafter / Asbuilt role based in Brooklyn, NY. The Drafter / Asbuilt professional will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings, floor plans, elevations, and details based on field measurements, design sketches, and project specifications. Day-to-day work includes conducting or reviewing site measurements, creating and updating as-built drawings, and maintaining organized drawing sets and documentation.
The role collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure drawings reflect current project conditions and comply with applicable codes and standards. The Drafter / Asbuilt team member will also support revisions throughout the project lifecycle, respond to redlines and markups, and contribute to quality control of all drawing deliverables.
Qualifications
- Strong drafting skills with proficiency in CAD and/or BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for creating precise architectural drawings and as-built documentation.
- Ability to perform or interpret site surveys and field measurements, translating them into accurate floor plans, sections, elevations, and details.
- Familiarity with architectural standards, building codes, and construction documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and version control in managing drawing sets and digital files.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with architects, engineers, consultants, and site personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic office and collaboration tools (e.g., email, shared drives, project management platforms).
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in drafting, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience in architectural drafting or as-built documentation, particularly in urban or commercial projects, is preferred.
