Office for the Next Environment is a multidisciplinary design and planning practice specializing in civic architecture and public infrastructure projects. We work in close collaboration with clients and partners to plan, design, and build public environments that are resilient and inspiring.

As our New York-based office continues to grow, we are currently seeking junior to intermediate level architectural designers, urban designers, and landscape designers with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience. We are also looking for people that are passionate about climate action, sustainability, and the process of city‑making.

The open position(s) are to join the multidisciplinary team that is currently working on urban master plans, infrastructure, and coastal resilience projects in New York City and New England. Potential projects the candidate might support include: EDC's Brooklyn Marine Terminal (BMT) redevelopment, the Bellevue Hospital Pump Station, and East Midtown Coastal Resiliency flood protection design. Depending on skills and experience, the candidate may also participate in Construction Support Services for the East Side Coastal Resiliency and Brooklyn Bridge Coastal Resiliency projects where OFTN continues to serve as Architect as Record.

We believe the best way to prepare for the future is to design it. In a world of rapid change, the spaces we share matter more than ever.
