We are seeking a creative, organized, and forward-thinking Men’s Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Design Director to drive the vision, development, and execution of Men’s Ready-to-Wear collections from concept through production. This will be designing this well known RTW Menswear brand for Off Price.
This will be 4 days in office in Midtown NYC.
This position is ideal for a proactive designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and can confidently manage multiple projects while mentoring an Assistant Designer.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the research, concept development, and execution of Men’s RTW apparel collections
- Develop seasonal design vision, color direction, fabric stories, and item-driven assortments aligned with brand DNA
- Design commercially viable collections that work independently and within a larger merchandised assortment
- Partner closely with the Design Director and retail partners on Private Label collections
- Execute the full design process from initial concept through final fit and production approval
- Create detailed tech packs and maintain clear communication with overseas factories and development teams
- Review all development, production, PP, and TOP samples while providing detailed comments and corrective feedback to factories
- Approve fabrics, trims, strike-offs, lab dips, and production qualities throughout the development cycle
- Identify innovative fabrications, trims, washes, and modern updates to classic silhouettes
- Generate and maintain seasonal T&A calendars to ensure timely execution across all categories
- Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, technical design, product development, sales, and production teams
- Manage and mentor an Assistant Designer while ensuring alignment with seasonal goals and deadlines
- Utilize AI tools and emerging technology to elevate CAD presentations, streamline workflows, and enhance visual storytelling
- Conduct mandatory store research and market analysis reports every other Friday, highlighting emerging trends, competitive insights, merchandising opportunities, and product direction
- 3–5 years of experience in Men’s Design, Activewear, or related apparel categories
- Strong understanding of trends in men’s fashion, fabric, color, print, and silhouette development
- Experience developing seasonal collections and managing multiple concurrent projects
- Experience working with Off-Price and Mass Market retailers (A MUST)
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to create comprehensive and production-ready tech packs
- Excellent sketching and CAD skills in Adobe Illustrator
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop;
Excel experience is a plus - Knowledge of fabrics, yarns, trims, garment construction, and production processes
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to confidently interface with retail management and cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Can clearly articulate what success looks like for a product category
- Takes pride in organization, precision, and execution
