The Architectural Manager (Level
2) will be involved in all phases of an MTA C&D project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reports.

• Designs/supervises various aspects of a project for MTA C&D.
• Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historic al data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative architectural design projects.
• Reviews designs, tests, and assesses materials and performs/reviews calculations.
• Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correctly identify design and construction risks.
• Plans and coordinates required permitting and approval documentation that supports their designs.
• Manages a small team of design architects.
• Embraces mentoring from senior staff.
• Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline.
• Coordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.

Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Must have a minimum of eight (8) years related experience, including at least four (4) years in a management role of a project manager in a large, multi-faceted organization.

• A registered NYS licensed architect (RA) is required.
• Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.
• Knowledge of applicable industry and NYS building and design codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
• Must possess excellent team‑building, listening, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in current design software and Microsoft Office are required.
• Experience in interpreting reports and analysis.
• An attitude and commitment to actively participating in our employee culture is a must.
• Able to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
• Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
