The Architectural Manager (Level
2) will be involved in all phases of an MTA C&D project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reports.
- Designs/supervises various aspects of a project for MTA C&D.
- Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historic al data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative architectural design projects.
- Reviews designs, tests, and assesses materials and performs/reviews calculations.
- Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correctly identify design and construction risks.
- Plans and coordinates required permitting and approval documentation that supports their designs.
- Manages a small team of design architects.
- Embraces mentoring from senior staff.
- Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline.
- Coordinates with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
Bachelor of Architecture degree.
Must have a minimum of eight (8) years related experience, including at least four (4) years in a management role of a project manager in a large, multi-faceted organization.
Competencies- A registered NYS licensed architect (RA) is required.
- Experience performing site inspections, documenting site conditions and construction activities, coordinating with Agency Owner and contractor staff, and responding to contractor requests for information.
- Knowledge of applicable industry and NYS building and design codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Must possess excellent team‑building, listening, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in current design software and Microsoft Office are required.
- Experience in interpreting reports and analysis.
- An attitude and commitment to actively participating in our employee culture is a must.
- Able to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
- Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
