Paid Associate Scenic Designer Korins Studio , NY

Korins Studio is a New York-based creative studio founded by award-winning creative director David Korins. We create multidimensional environments and experiences across Broadway and live performance, immersive attractions, exhibitions, hospitality, television, film, and brand activations.

We are seeking an experienced Associate Scenic Designer to support the development of theatrical scenic designs from early concepts through detailed design, bid packages, fabrication, and installation. While this position focuses primarily on theater and live‑performance work, projects may also include immersive experiences, exhibitions, and other experiential environments.

The Associate Scenic Designer will work closely with David Korins, studio leadership, project teams, production partners, and outside fabricators. Responsibilities include design development, drafting, 3D modeling, rendering coordination, research, drawing‑package preparation, and occasional site, theater, shop, and installation visits.

• High fluency in Vectorworks 2D and 3D is essential. Candidates must be able to use Vectorworks confidently throughout concept, schematic, detail-design, and bid-package phases.
• Strong scenic-design and technical-drafting skills, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and presentation drawings.
• Professional experience in theatrical scenic design, live entertainment, or closely related design fields.
• Ability to translate creative direction into clear, practical, and buildable scenic design documentation.
• Experience collaborating with directors, designers, production managers, technical directors, fabricators, and installation teams.
• Strong understanding of stagecraft, scenic construction, materials, and theatrical production processes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Sketch Up, Enscape, and other rendering tools are strongly preferred.
• Highly organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving studio environment.

• Experience in Broadway, regional theater, touring productions, opera, dance, concerts, or other live‑performance environments.
• Experience in immersive experiences, exhibitions, attractions, branded environments, hospitality, or location-based entertainment.
• Experience coordinating or mentoring junior designers, drafters, illustrators, or outside consultants.
• Bachelor’s degree in scenic design, theater design, architecture, fine arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
