Senior Designer – Plush & Soft Goods

As a Senior Designer, you will focus on plush and soft goods, translating original IP, legacy GUND collections, and licensed properties from initial concept through final production. You will apply your trend expertise, aesthetic eye, and strong character sketching abilities to create magical products and uphold seamless design direction.

• Design new plush animals and characters while managing multiple projects and seasons concurrently from concept ideation to final production.
• Lead design development for new concepts and licensing pitches, creating clear pitch decks and mood boards.
• Prepare and maintain specification documents and artwork files for soft‑goods printing and manufacturing.
• Research trends across fashion, home décor, toys, and materials to inform design rationale and character development.
• Review physical samples meticulously to ensure product quality while balancing target costs.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with brand, engineering, packaging, and external vendors to ensure seamless design execution.
• Participate in after‑hours communication with overseas manufacturing partners as needed to maintain development schedules.

• Previous product‑design experience within consumer goods, toys, plush, or baby products.
• A proven track record of taking items from concept to on‑shelf goods.
• Ability to create characters that align with existing brands or launch new brand identities.
• Strong 2D digital skillset (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) combined with robust hand‑sketching abilities.
• Foundational knowledge of interactive or animated toys is an asset.
• Understanding of CAD, sewing, flat patterns, or pattern making is a major plus.

The anticipated pay range for candidates in New York is $40.00 to $52.50 per Hour
. The offered pay will depend on factors including experience, industry background, and education. This salary range may not reflect positions in other states.
