Design Assistant

Jessica Alex Interiors is seeking an Interior Design Assistant to join our growing boutique design firm. You will work closely with the principal designer on high‑end residential projects from initial concept and design development through installation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across every aspect of the design process. We're looking for someone with a passion for timeless, collected and layered interiors who is excited to join a collaborative studio where they can make a meaningful contribution.

The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, highly organized, enjoys problem solving, detail‑oriented and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

• Sourcing furniture, lighting, materials, and finishes, including frequent visits to New York City’s design centers.
• Creating mood boards, design presentations, and material palettes.
• Assisting in the design and development of custom furniture, upholstery, window treatments, pillows, and decorative details.
• Preparing floor plans, elevations, and design documentation using AutoCAD.
• Overseeing custom furniture fabrication from approval through installation.
• Managing procurement, including order placement, vendor communication, order tracking, lead time management, and issue resolution.
• Developing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, and procurement trackers.

This is a full-time position based in our New York City office. Monday - Thursday:
In‑office. Friday:
Remote. Occasional travel to project sites throughout New York City, Connecticut, and the Hamptons is required, as well as attendance at installations, client meetings, and photoshoots when scheduled.
