Project Manager
Location:
New York, NY 10001 – Full Time – Salary $85,000.00 – $
The Project Manager leads architectural projects from initial client engagement through closeout, ensuring design quality, financial performance, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities Project Leadership and Management- Serve as project manager responsible for overall delivery, execution, and performance.
- Develop and maintain project work plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and staffing.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and establish execution plans.
- Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Serve as primary client contact throughout project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, developers, and stakeholders.
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and design reviews.
- Communicate progress, schedule, scope changes, and budget implications.
- Manage client expectations and address concerns proactively.
- Support business development in proposals and client presentations.
- Lead development and execution of design concepts aligned with project goals.
- Ensure design solutions meet functional, aesthetic, budget, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide design direction and technical guidance to the team.
- Review drawings and models for design intent accuracy.
- Collaborate with interior designers, planners, and technical specialists.
- Oversee preparation and coordination of architectural drawings and construction documents.
- Ensure documents are complete, coordinated, and compliant with codes and regulations.
- Review technical accuracy, constructability, and quality control.
- Ensure adherence to drafting and documentation standards.
- Facilitate QA/QC reviews internally and externally.
- Select, coordinate, and manage external consultants (structural, MEP, civil, landscape, code, specialty).
- Ensure consultant work is integrated with architectural design.
- Review deliverables for consistency and alignment.
- Facilitate coordination meetings and resolve discipline conflicts.
- Develop and manage budgets and staffing plans.
- Monitor financial performance, labor utilization, and profitability.
- Review and approve timesheets and labor allocations.
- Track costs and identify variances.
- Prepare and review client invoices with accounting.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections.
- Manage scope changes and prepare proposals for additional services.
- Oversee shop drawings, submittals, samples, RFIs, and supplemental instructions.
- Conduct site visits and field observations.
- Assist in resolving construction issues and coordinating with contractors.
- Support project closeout including punch lists and final documentation.
- Coordinate with local jurisdictions and agencies for approvals and permits.
- Ensure compliance with codes, zoning, life safety, and accessibility.
- Address plan review comments and revise documents.
- Facilitate effective communication among team and leadership.
- Coordinate schedules, staffing, and resources.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, standards, and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of architectural design, detailing, and construction methods.
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents and specifications.
- Thorough understanding of applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility requirements.
- Ability to review and coordinate complex technical drawings.
- Strong project planning, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
