About Abbode
Founded in 2021, Abbode has evolved into one of New York City's leading embroidery and personalization brands. Headquartered in Nolita, with a flagship boutique at the heart of the neighborhood, we create thoughtfully personalized embroidered products sold through ecommerce, wholesale, retail, and live events.
We're growing rapidly across every channel while expanding into new product categories, and we're investing in the people, processes, and manufacturing partnerships that will help us scale.
The RoleWe're looking for a Designer to own the design of Abbode's accessories and apparel from concept through execution. You'll design product that's built to be personalized, create the sketches, CADs, and tech packs that bring it to life, and drive each style through development with Product Development, Production, and our Embroidery Design team.
This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑moving, growing business. You'll help shape new product categories and build the design process as we scale — with real room to grow your scope and ownership over time.
What You'll Do- Design accessories and apparel across our categories — pouches, bags, totes, towels, charms, and new product lines
- Own the design process from concept through execution, creating sketches, CADs, and presentation materials that communicate design intent
- Design product built to be personalized — partnering with our Embroidery Design team so embroidery and customization elevate every piece
- Own tech packs and BOMs for your styles across seasons
- Drive development with Product Development and Production, holding design intent through to final product while hitting cost, quality, and timeline targets
- Research trends, materials, and the market to inform design direction and new categories
- Participate in fittings with informed input on fit, construction, and design intent
- Partner cross‑functionally (Product Development, Production, Merchandising, Wholesale) to keep product cohesive and on track
- Manage your own workflow and priorities across multiple projects and seasonal calendars
- 3+ years in apparel and/or accessories design
- Strong understanding of silhouette, fit, construction, and technical design
- An eye for personalization — excited to design product that customers make their own
- Proficiency in design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD) and comfort building tech packs and BOMs
- Detail‑oriented and proactive, with a get‑it‑done approach to problem solving
- Collaborative and communicative, with a team‑first mindset
- High ownership, initiative, and follow‑through — reliably delivers on commitments
- Hungry to grow and thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑channel environment
You'll shape the products at the heart of a fast‑growing brand — across D2C, wholesale, retail, and new categories — working closely with the whole team to take ideas from sketch to customer. For a designer who wants to own more and help build, there's real room to grow as we scale.
ScheduleFull‑time, on‑site 4–5 days/week. On‑site at our studio in NYC.
