Location: New York
Our client is a global architecture and interior design studio with a strong international footprint and a collaborative, design‑led culture. With teams working across multiple regions, the practice is known for creating immersive environments that connect people, place, and brand through thoughtful, culturally informed design.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead multiple nationwide corporate retail projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
- Act as the primary client‑facing lead and account manager for select global brands.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Oversee project teams and proactively coordinate activities with consultants.
- Serve as the technical lead for document quality control, detailing, and life‑safety compliance.
- Collaborate closely with design leadership on rollouts and site adaptations of prototypical designs.
- Review design criteria, client programs, and work letters to ensure compliance with client and landlord requirements.
- Coordinate the specification of building systems, assemblies, and materials across varied geographic and climate conditions.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, zoning reviews, and building code research; oversee site investigation reports.
- Manage document submittals, plan review processes, and coordination for document sealing.
- Support senior leadership with personnel planning, time allocation, and fee proposals.
- Maintain composure under pressure and exercise strong judgment while managing competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
- 5–10+ years of professional architectural experience, with a strong focus on corporate retail projects.
- Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, and consultant teams.
- Strong working knowledge of building and accessibility codes, with sensitivity to regional and international variations.
- Familiarity with Canadian project delivery standards and processes is a plus.
- International project experience and comfort working on projects outside the U.S. preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
