We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Technical Design Assistant to support our end-to-end production design process. In this role, you will work closely with our Technical Designer to ensure production-ready execution for all confirmed jewelry packaging orders. You will be responsible for creating precise technical specifications, managing digital design assets, and adhering strictly to individual customer production requirements. A core component of this role is the ability to accurately render jewelry to scale onto scale packaging inserts, customizing the layout with necessary functional elements—such as custom punch holes-tailored to the highly varied requirements of our clients.
The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for nuanced details, the ability to adapt and learn quickly, and flawless organizational habits.
- Technical Specification Documents:
Create and maintain highly accurate technical spec sheets based on confirmed order information from the Sales team, including precise millimeter measurements, material selections, and structural construction details. - To-Scale Packaging Renders:
Render jewelry pieces exactly to scale onto to-scale packaging layouts. - Visually map out and engineer custom punch holes, slits, and cuts needed to securely hold and display the jewelry based on the unique, individualized requirements of each client.
- Asset & File Management:
Maintain and rigorously follow our structured digital archiving system. Ensure all working files (PSD, Al) are perfectly organized, correctly formatted, and properly backed up. All assets require organized working files alongside flat PDF deliverables. - Production & Vendor Liaison:
Assist in communicating technical requirements clearly to manufacturing factories. Track production samples, review physical samples for quality and accuracy, and execute appropriate technical revisions. - Design Support:
Implement necessary design modifications on production-ready files based on existing physical samples and specific customer requirements. - Quality Control:
Inspect incoming factory samples against original technical SPEC files to ensure exact alignment regarding structural claims, materials, dimensions, die-lines, and punch hole placement.
- Experience:
1-3 years of experience in graphic design or a related technical production role; background in packaging design (specifically jewelry, cosmetics, or luxury goods) is highly preferred. - Spatial & Scaling Accuracy:
Strong spatial awareness and a proven ability to work with strict 1:1 scaling. - Must understand how to translate physical object dimensions into functional, production-ready packaging layouts.
- Software Mastery:
Advanced, mandatory proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite(specifically Illustrator and Photoshop). Strong experience utilizing Adobe Illustrator is highly preferred. - Technical Precision:
Proven ability to read, modify, and create detailed dimensional drawings with a strong understanding of structural tolerances, die-lines, and exact millimeter (mm) measurements. - Organization:
Elite file-management habits, strict adherence to file structures, and a meticulous approach to version control. - Adaptability:
