We are seeking an experienced Designer to join a fast-paced Design & Construction team supporting a premier commercial real estate portfolio in New York City. This is an immediate contract opportunity for a highly organized and creative professional with experience in commercial interiors, workplace design, and space planning.
The Designer will support tenant improvement projects, workplace planning initiatives, and turnkey design solutions across a portfolio of office properties. This role requires a hands-on professional who can manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and deliver high-quality design documentation in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support turnkey workplace solutions, including furniture and ancillary design selections.
- Collaborate with furniture vendors to evaluate finishes, furnishings, and workplace trends.
- Partner with leasing and construction teams to develop refresh scopes for vacant office spaces.
- Produce tenant test fits, prebuilt plans, marketing plans, and lease exhibit drawings.
- Develop and maintain design standards and planning guidelines.
- Coordinate with external architects, consultants, and vendors.
- Conduct site surveys, field measurements, and document existing conditions.
- Attend project meetings and monitor construction progress.
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, and documentation.
- Stay current on workplace trends, materials, sustainability practices, and emerging technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Interior Design, Architecture, or Workplace Design.
- Experience with commercial interiors and space planning is required.
- Strong understanding of workplace design principles and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- The role is based in New York City, with on-site collaboration required.
