Role DescriptionThe Assistant Technical Designer will support the technical design team in translating creative concepts into production‑ready accessories, luggage, duffles, backpacks, travel toiletry, cosmetic bags, handbags, small leather goods, and seasonal beach totes in both mens and ladies brands to ensure construction and quality standards.
Responsibilities include preparing and updating technical packets, measuring samples, and assisting with tracking revisions across multiple brands and product categories. The role involves collaborating closely with the design director and other senior designers.
Maintain consistency with brand standards and meet calendar deadlines. Additional tasks may include reviewing and supporting specification development for special customer requests. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area, working within a fast‑paced fashion accessories environment.
Qualifications- Demonstrated skills in Technical Design, must be technically savvy.
- Knowledge of luggage, duffles, backpacks, handbags, and small leather goods to interpret design intent and ensure manufacturable products.
- Ability to understand product structure and form, and how to build a product efficiently; relevant exposure is a plus.
- Proficiency in industry‑standard design and technical tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Excel, PLM systems) and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time‑management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple styles and deadlines.
- Relevant education in fashion design, technical design. Experience in accessories or travel items, luggage, duffles, handbags, backpacks, small leather goods preferred.
