About the Opportunity

The successful candidate must be physically based in New York, USA and available to attend the office during normal working hours. They operate on a hybrid working model.

The organisation is building the next generation of payments, identity and financial technology solutions and is seeking ambitious individuals who want to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the business.

As part of this next phase of growth, our client is seeking a Product Design Lead to help shape the future user experience of the platform as it scales to support significant growth. This is not a traditional corporate design role.

They are not simply looking for candidates with impressive company names on their CVs. They are seeking builders, operators and problem‑solvers who thrive in fast‑paced environments, take ownership without being asked, move quickly, execute effectively and have a proven track record of delivering meaningful outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex user experience challenges, translating ideas into intuitive customer journeys, and helping to create products that customers genuinely enjoy using.

You will work closely with founders, engineering teams and senior stakeholders to help define and evolve the customer experience across multiple products and markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product design initiatives across the organisation's digital products and customer experiences
  • Help shape and evolve the overall user experience strategy
  • Design intuitive, engaging and customer‑focused product experiences
  • Translate business objectives and customer needs into effective design solutions
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product and leadership teams
  • Support the redesign and continuous improvement of customer‐facing products
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high‑fidelity designs
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable design systems
  • Support user research, testing and customer feedback initiatives
  • Use data, customer insight and design thinking principles to improve product experiences
  • Champion customer‑centric design approaches throughout the organisation
  • Help establish design best practices and scalable design processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 5+ years of experience within Product Design, UX Design, UI Design or Digital Product Design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating customer‑focused digital product design work
  • Experience working within fintech, payments, SaaS, consumer technology or high‑growth startup environments
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design and user‑centred design methodologies
  • Experience designing customer‑facing digital products and experiences
  • Familiarity with design systems and scalable design frameworks
  • Strong visual design and communication skills
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineers and product stakeholders
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within fast‑moving and evolving organisations
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking capabilities
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality with a track record of delivering results
